When Weber first launched the original Genesis in 1985, it revolutionised the gas barbecue world, bringing the famed Weber innovation and high build quality into a whole new world of grilling (and smoking, and baking, and roasting). In 2017 Weber have done it again with the completely new Genesis II range, full of features you'll love which will make cooking for friends and family easy and fun.

At the heart of the Genesis II LX range is the Weber GS4 High Performance grilling system - the most powerful grilling engine from Weber to date. Every component - the ignition system, the burners, the Flavorizer bars and the grease management system - has been redesigned and upgraded across the range. The new powerful ignition system has been refined through years of development and engineering to create the reliability that means that it lights first time every time. Weber are so confident in this that they've given the new system a limited 10 year warranty.

The 2 updated burners have a new, tapered shape which means that the gas is distributed evenly from front to back, spreading the heat equally around the cooking surface, meaning you get the same great results all over the grate, no matter where you cook. The new grease management system means that you spend less time cleaning and more time cooking! The shape of the Flavorizer bars means that fat and juices are funneled away from the burners into an easy to remove catch pan. This means that you're less likely to suffer flare ups which can ruin food, and you don't have to spend hours cleaning the barbecue.

The Weber Flavorizer bars are the perfect shape to catch juices and fat from food and when they are hit by fat, they smoke and sizzle, creating the classic barbecue flavour that we all know and love. Any fat and juices not vaporized back into the cook box are guided by the shape of the Flavorizer bars into the catch pan for easy cleaning. Functionality is important, but so are looks and the Genesis II LX wins on that front as well! Solid front doors enclose an expanded storage area, achieved by moving the gas bottle to the right hand side, freeing up the centre of the grill for tools, pizza stones, griddles, brushes; the list goes on and on!

Barbecuing should be effortless, and Weber's work towards that has taken a leap forward with the new improved ergonomic lid, making it even easier to open and close the grill. The left hand side table folds down to create a more slimline profile, perfect for storing away when not in use, or for use in more compact spaces. Create whole meals from global cuisines with the Gourmet Barbecue System grates - choose from the GBS inserts: pizza stone, wok and steamer, griddle, sear grate, poultry roaster, Dutch oven or waffle iron and create restaurant quality meals, all on your barbecue.

Every barbecue nut knows you test doneness by internal temperature, and so does Weber, which is why the Genesis II LX is iGrill 3 compatible - an integrated frame in the right hand side table perfectly fits the new iGrill 3 thermometer (sold separately), which can measure temperature simultaneously with up to four probes and can link to your smart phone via Bluetooth, so you can keep on the food, even when you're not near the grill.

The Genesis II LX range also includes an additional side burner, allowing for maximum flexibility when cooking. Why have to nip inside to whip up a sauce, boil potatoes or cook pasta, when you can do it outside and keep the party going there? The left hand side table folds down to create a more compact profile and is great for storage for use in compact, urban gardens.

All Genesis II LX grills have independent ignitions for each burner - a switch is built into the individual control knob, which creates the spark to light that burner and that burner only, allowing you to use as much or as little of the cooking area as you like. Why should the fun stop when the sun goes in?

With the Genesis II LX, it doesn't have to - each grill has a handle light which is angled so it lights the cooking grate when the lid is opened. The control knobs also have integrated lights so you can grill on through the evening! When it comes to grilling and searing, sometimes you just need to go to 11, which is why Genesis II LX grills have the High+ functionality - an extra boost of heat available on all burners which kicks the power over the top, allowing you to create amazing sear marks and rare steaks all over the cooking area.

The Genesis II LX includes the new Tuck Away warming rack, which has been designed to work with the new Weber Elevations line of accessories. When the warming rack is folded down, it acts as a tiered support for each of the elevations accessories to be placed in, giving you more space and control over the cooking process.
